Who’s Got the Flu? A Guide to Where to Get Flu and COVID-19 Vaccines in Bennington

As the season changes, Bennington College’s campus has become a breeding ground for contagious infections as various strains of COVID, flu, and stomach bugs spread. Because we share so many communal living and social spaces, vaccination is key to keeping the campus healthy and functional. According to the American College Health Association-National College Health Fall 2025 Assessment, about 41 percent of U.S. college students reported receiving a flu vaccine within the last 12 months. Similarly, while initial COVID vaccine uptake was high early in the pandemic, uptake of updated booster shots has dropped significantly. 

Despite extremely limited and inaccessible on-campus health services, students should still take the initiative to protect themselves and their peers by getting vaccinated.  Other precautions, such as masking, disinfecting, staying home when sick, and visiting health professionals at Southwestern Vermont Medical Centers, are strongly recommended during outbreaks. Below are resources and locations where students can get vaccinated. Bennington College’s United Healthcare Insurance plan covers all these locations.
